Job summary

Jobtailor in Pittsburgh is seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineering student intern to support senior engineers with calculations, drawings, and data analysis.

You'll obtain municipal drawings, help develop spreadsheet tools, and communicate with staff and clients while maintaining safety.

This internship offers hands-on experience in GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and Microsoft Office within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering.
• Freshman or sophomore status preferred.
• Valid driver's license.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.
• Knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit preferred.
• Self-motivated.
• Very organized.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Perform routine calculations under senior engineer
• Obtain drawings from local municipalities
• Perform data analysis of continuous flow and rainfall data
• Copy and scan project-related drawings
• Assist engineers with development of spreadsheet tools
• Work with project managers and engineers and take direction from them
• Work with the Planning department
• Work with the Design (structural) department
• Work with the Hydraulic and Hydrology department
• Communicate effectively with engineering staff and clients
• Maintain excellent client relations
• Maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
• Freshman or sophomore status preferred
