JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is looking for an Engineer Structural 3 to support their Mechanical and Energetics department. As a member of the M&E department, you\"ll get to work alongside a dynamic team performing structural analysis on launch vehicles and missiles. This position will serve on-site in Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities

• Performs structural analysis on launch vehicle and ground support components.
• Analyzes damage tolerance, durability, design allowable and structural modeling.
• Specific structural engineering specialties may include dynamics and loads, stability and stress fatigue and thermal analysis. Tools will include NX CAD software and FEA.

Basic Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 5 years of related engineering experience; or a master\"s degree in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience, or a PhD in STEM with 1 year of experience.
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance, or higher.
• Strong structural analysis background with demonstrated work experience and knowledge
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Computer skills with standard word processing/spreadsheet experience.
• Ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion.

Preferred Qualifications for Engineer Structural 3

• MS, or PhD in related field.
• Active US Government Secret security clearance, or higher at the time of application.
• Experience working with high-performance flight structures.
• FEMAP, NX NASTRAN finite element analysis software.
• ANSYS, ABAQUS, and other software package experience also considered.
• Research and experience working with high temperatures, and effects in structural mechanics.
• Thermal loading, advanced high temperature materials, structural responses, and development testing.
• Working knowledge of CMC material systems.
• Scripting and AI use in fields of engineering and data sciences.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
