Position Overview

At Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems the role of Engineer Software – DevOps & Cloud Infrastructure involves modernizing software production with DevSecOps practices such as continuous build, integration, test, cyber, deployment and metrics for aerospace programs. The position can be located in San Diego, California or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stand‑up a large‑scale software factory used by software teams.
  • Implement segments of the DevSecOps lifecycle: continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, and continuous deployment pipelines.
  • Design, architect, develop, deploy, and operate the modern DevSecOps software factory in an Agile environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams such as Systems Engineering, Real‑time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and at least 2 years of software engineering experience, ORMaster’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with no prior experience, ORPhD in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with no prior experience.
  • Experience with at least one object‑oriented programming language (Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, Python, Swift) and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with a change‑management tracking system such as Jira, ClearQuest, or Asana.
  • Experience with a configuration‑management system such as GIT, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, or Subversion.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (in‑scope) with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) before employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, VMware, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Experience developing software using Agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban).
  • Knowledge of software metrics.
  • Experience configuring virtual machines and virtual networks (VPC, NSX‑T, NSX‑V).
  • Experience with static and dynamic code analysis.
  • Experience operating cyber remediation and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Certifications from VMware, AWS, or Cisco are desired.
  • Active Secret DoD clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance at the Primary Level.
Security Clearance

The role requires an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR). The position may also require a Top Secret clearance and a current Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.

Compensation

Primary salary range: $75,100 to $137,600. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and for certain senior roles, long‑term incentives.
