The Software Engineer works in Agile development teams, contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring high code quality through test automation, unit testing, and performance monitoring, collaborating with DevOps teams to ensure seamless CI/CD pipeline integration and safe and reversable deployment to target environments.
Working within a scurm team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers, employee will design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The Software Engineer participates and leads in architecture and design of various software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies such as virtualization, micro services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms and technologies. They work on technical assignments that are semi routine or greenfield in nature, but recognizes that need for occasional deviation from accepted practice. They ensure their functional software works per design by performing unit, component and intergration tests, and by creating test automation software to be incorportated into the CI/CD pipelines for their applications. They normally follow established procedures on routine work and require instructions only on new assignments.

Technical Engineering Services

  • Supports engineering projects by developing software solutions.
  • Analyze user requirments and technical specifications,
  • Design scalable, efficient and maintainable test solutions.
  • Develop and execute domain, integration and system tests.
  • Preparing reports, user guides or technical manuals as needed.
  • Understands system protocols, how systems and data flows are operate.
  • Demonstrates skills necessary to independently develop a full software stack.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in software testing, using manual and automated methods
  • Expected to supervise associate engineers on occasion.

Technical Leadership

  • Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
  • Monitor system performance utilizing latest T-Mobile IT recommended technologies and maintain existing codebases in T-Mobile IT Standard Repositories,
  • Identify and fix bugs or performance issues
  • Continuously learns new technologies.

Technical Writing

  • Writes basic documentation on how technology works.
  • Contributes clear documentation for new code and systems used.
  • Documenting systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.

Technology Strategy

  • Contributes to emerging technologies to deliver business goals.
  • Understands current technology that supports business goals.
  • Expected to independently develop a full software stack.
  • Understands the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.
  • Independent study of current technology is expected.
  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirement and/or necessary requirements for automation.
  • Aware of current technology benefits.

Innovation

  • Presents new ideas which improve an existing system/process/service utilizing new frameworks.
  • Express new perspectives based on independent study of the industry.
  • Review current company processes to highlight questions that may drive process refinement.
  • Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Education and Work Experience :

  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or Engineering (Required)
  • 2-4 years technical engineering experience. (Required)

Preferred Qualification

  • 2 - 4 years Technical engineering experience building and testing REST APIs in Java
  • Postman Enterprise- Postman is an API (Application Programming Interface) development tool that helps to build, test and modify APIs.The Enterprise version enables team and project-level collaboration.
  • Tricentis Tosca - Tricentis Toscais a Continuous Testing platform thatdelivers fast feedback for Agile and DevOps. It allows you to design automated, functional, end-to-end software tests across all layers of your enterprise architecture.
  • GraphQL - GraphQL is an open-source query language for APIs and a runtime for fulfilling those queries with your existing data.
  • Kafka - Apache Kafka is a distributed, fault-tolerant, high-throughput, and low-latency platform for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications. It acts as a distributed commit log, allowing applications to publish and subscribe to streams of records.
  • SAfe Agile Software Engineer - Certification will give you knowledge and tools to apply and build a test first technical infrastructure and also develop a foundational understanding of lean, Agile and devops principles.

Base Pay Range: $92,500 - $166,800 Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
