A leading company in the energy sector is looking for an engineer to join their Smart Grid, Automation & SCADA department in Kentucky. The successful candidate will be responsible for Transmission SCADA activities, including programming and troubleshooting. This role offers the chance to support innovative automation projects while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Overview
This position is for an engineer to work in our Smart Grid, Automation & SCADA department. This role will be involved in Transmission SCADA activities such as programming RTUs, creating points list, and troubleshooting.The position will be located in Louisville or Lexington, KY andwill be filled based on the successful candidate’s experience level.
Responsibilities
Involved in Transmission SCADA activities such as programming RTUs, creating points list, and troubleshooting.
Support innovative automation projects such as IED management and IP connectivity upgrades.
Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
Gathers, correlates, and analyses specific data using established procedures.
Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests, and analysis.
Performs a variety of routine tasks to become familiar with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the company.
Supports operating and maintenance functions with problem identification, engineering analysis, and problem resolution activities.
Prepares and presents reports giving conclusions of job-related engineering activities.
Assists other engineers with large projects, as needed.
Assists with the development of goals, objectives, budgets, programs, and procedures.
Plans and controls all activities so as to provide an accident-free workplace.
Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Occasionally directs the activities of coops, supervisors, and others as they perform various activities
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree ABET Accredited Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to analyze and solve engineering problems from a business perspective.
