AmNet Services, Inc. is seeking a skilled RF Design Engineer to contribute to LTE network design in Overland Park, Kansas. The role involves evaluating search areas, preparing submissions, conducting drive tests, and utilizing RF theory expertise. Ideal candidates will possess a BS in Engineering or Computer Science with relevant experience in telecommunications and RF theory.
America Networks is a leading sensor and networking solutions partner for companies in the Industrial, Manufacturing, and Waste management sectors.
We design and manufacture sensors for storage tanks, water metering, energy metering, gas monitoring, and asset management.
Our founders are experienced telecommunications engineers with over 200 years of combined experience in designing, optimizing, and performance engineering for various international wireless carriers. They identified the need to provide low-power, cost-efficient sensors for data collection, alerts, and predictive actions. We integrate these sensors with low power, wide area (LPWA) networking technologies to help clients reduce recurring costs associated with IoT sensor networks and connected devices.
We specialize in the design, deployment, optimization, and support of these networks. Whether off-the-shelf or custom solutions are required, we create tailored solutions and deploy data on the cloud platform that best fits your needs, including options for your own platform.
Positions available in Overland Park, KS (Kansas City) and Weldon Springs, MO (St. Louis).
Responsibilities include contributing to the RF design of the regional LTE network. Key tasks involve creating search areas within the geographic region, collaborating with the performance team to identify issues, and working with the system performance team to reduce lost calls and ineffective attempts within your sector. Additional duties include providing cell site translations, performing drive tests to evaluate search areas, preparing FCC/FAA and FAS submissions promptly, conducting radio engineering evaluations for system planning and site acquisition, and identifying location-specific needs for new cells considering baseline, performance, capacity, and population data. Evaluating coverage problems and requirements for coverage cells is also essential.
Qualifications include a BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in the cellular or telecommunications industry. A good understanding or working knowledge of RF theory, LTE/VoLTE technology, Ericsson LTE/VoLTE platform design and optimization, and propagation modeling software (such as Atoll, iBwave) is required. Proficiency in computer applications like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, MapInfo, and MySQL is expected. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of engineering concepts, a desire to learn, and a motivation to advance in a technical field. Relevant experience ranges from 3 to 7 years. Programming skills are a plus.
