Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Quality professional to support heat treat and pyrometry compliance under the guidance of the Manager Quality. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to regulatory, customer, and company quality system specifications.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least three years of related experience, and must be able to work on-site in Fontana, CA. ITAR restrictions apply, and sponsorship is not available.
SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Manager Quality, provides support to the Heat Treat and pyrometry compliance. Responsible for ensuring compliance to regulatory, customer and Company quality system specifications and requirements. Familiarity with customer quality systems, portals, document requirements, quality objectives, and customer quality initiatives.Interfaces with the designated customers as Howmet quality representative. Works directly with customers to define requirements and solve quality issues while maintaining excellent relationships.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
Minimum of three years related experience and/or training

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Experience with AMS 2750 Pyrometry a plus.
Must be able to read engineering drawings and specifications. Understanding of Metals and basic heat treat principles, gas fired furnace operations and maintenance, a plus.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to perform conversion calculations (e.g. metric to inches, Celsius to Fahrenheit). Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to perform root cause analysis.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of statistical techniques, SPC
