Job description

Quality Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

As a Quality Engineer, your work will directly impact our operation by driving improvements in COPQ, product quality, and process efficiencies.

Responsibilities
  • Recognize and understand flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Immediately report flight/product safety concerns.
  • Participate in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.
  • Develop and implement meaningful and lasting corrective/preventative actions alongside Operations Leaders and Production Engineers.
  • Provide engineering support to Operations and Production teams to solve quality-impacting non-conforming products or processes.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through compliance with all established safety and environmental programs.
  • Analyze defect data and establish trend charts for review by management.
  • Work alongside Production Cells in Root-Cause and Corrective Action analysis for damaged parts, warranty reviews, and other process non-conformances.
  • Conduct studies to stabilize or improve process capabilities and efficiencies.
  • Perform special process and critical product audits to ensure conformance to all internal and external requirements.
  • Audit new processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production, testing, and measurement equipment.
  • Analyze and summarize compiled data from test and inspection reports, generating statistical reports identifying quality concerns for submission to various levels of management for review and corrective action.
  • Apply quality methodology and solve quality problems with engineering staff.
  • Monitor assigned projects for work in progress to ensure that quality and regulatory standards are met and that project designs are effective throughout the entire process; approve changes to designs or schedules as necessary.
  • Provide, on an as required basis, technical advice with respect to quality system criteria, airworthiness and regulatory requirements.
  • Carry out special projects as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or other related Engineering field, with 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in using quality analytical tools and problem-solving methodology.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in Quality Management Systems in the MRO/aerospace industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to maintenance and certification for products processed by the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of NADCAP, AS9100, AS9110, and/or ISO9001.
  • Thorough knowledge of First Article Inspections/AS9102.
  • Effective communicator in both verbal and technical writing.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints or technical figures.
  • Working knowledge of production management computer systems.
  • Strategic planner with strong time management and leadership ability.
  • Able to problem solve, process information quickly, challenge current processes and take initiatives towards improvement.
  • Works well in a collaborative team-based environment.
