Halff has an immediate opening in our Atlanta, Georgia office for a Professional Civil Engineer with 4 to 7 years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design. This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with public entities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Atlanta or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • 4–7 years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater or utilities design.
  • Strong design and project management skills.
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise staff and manage multiple offices/disciplines.
  • Team player with a focus on quality and integrity.
  • Willingness to develop municipal client networks and teaming partners.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee design and construction of public and private infrastructure projects (roadways, drainage, water/wastewater, site work).
  • Manage clients and supervise technical staff across offices.
  • Oversee design production and deliverables; coordinate with multiple practices and offices.
  • Lead and mentor engineers and CAD designers; maintain autonomy in project leadership.

Civil Engineer - Public Works / Local Infrastructure - Atlanta, Georgia

Halff has an immediate opening in our Atlanta, Georgia office for a Professional Civil Engineer with at least 4 to 7 years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design. This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with public entities. What will you do:

The Professional Civil Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of public and private infrastructure projects, including, yet not limited to, roadways, drainage systems, water and wastewater pipelines, civil site work and associated civil improvements in land development as well as public parks and trails facilities. Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.

The role will have a large amount of autonomy in managing other professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and CAD designers.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • PE License in Atlanta or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • At least 4 to 7 years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design
  • Strong design experience and project manager skills
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD experience preferred
  • Good technical writing and communication skills
  • Must be proficient in project management, administration and supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines
  • A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success
  • Willingness to develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
