Job summary

Lilly is seeking a senior project leader to drive capital programs in industrial/manufacturing facilities. You will manage end-to-end delivery from front-end planning to validation, coordinating with cross-functional teams and governance bodies to ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor of Science in engineering, 5+ years of capital project experience, willingness to relocate/travel, and U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

  • 5+ years delivering capital projects in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
  • Willingness to relocate and/or travel outside home state/country.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams to deliver capital programs of at least $50M USD or a workstream/node within a larger $200M+ program; manage end-to-end delivery from front-end planning through operational qualification to achieve safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Interface with program leadership, project teams, governance teams, business partners, and stakeholders; facilitate issue resolution and implement scope changes safely with quality, speed, and value.
  • Comply with Company Policies and Procedures through disciplined, structured project management.
  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans; ensure compliance with safety/environment policies and work rules from conceptual design through operational verification.

Job description

Key Objectives/Deliverables
  • Project Management: Lead teams to deliver capital programs of at least $50M USD or a workstream/node within a larger $200M+ capital program; manage end-to-end delivery from front-end planning (conceptual design) through operational qualification (cradle to grave) to achieve safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
  • Interface/Communication: Work effectively from a regional distance from corporate HQ; maintain communication with program leadership, project team, governance teams, business partners, and stakeholders; facilitate issue resolution and implement scope changes safely with quality, speed, and value.
  • Compliance: Lead/influence a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Safety/Environment: Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans; ensure compliance with safety/environment policies, procedures, and work rules from conceptual design through operational verification.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in an engineering field (or related to project management).
  • 5+ years delivering capital projects in industrial/manufacturing facilities.
  • Willingness to relocate and/or travel outside home state/country.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas.
Additional Preferences
  • Experience on projects >$10M; greenfield projects; pharma manufacturing (e.g., bulk API, sterile products, secondary packaging, devices).
  • GMP manufacturing, LEAN, automation, construction/quality, project controls, engineering disciplines, safety, scheduling.
  • Leadership through influence, sound judgment, independent work with little supervision, strong written/verbal communication, ability to influence without administrative authority.
  • Foreign language(s), PE (or equivalent), PMP, experience living/working outside the U.S., continuous improvement/agent for change.
Additional Information
  • Travel required; full relocation required for project duration; onsite role (not remote).
