Overview

Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring an Engineer Program Director, Water Resources to join our dynamic Infrastructure team remotely. This position reports to the Market Director I and is responsible for building and expanding Woolpert’s water resources, stormwater, and coastal engineering services, while driving business opportunities in groundwater, water supply, and water master planning. Qualified candidates will have success in business development and client relationship management.

This fully remote role is open to candidates located in the Southeast United States.

Responsibilities

  • Ignite Growth: Build and expand Woolpert’s water resources, stormwater, and coastal engineering services while driving business opportunities in groundwater, water supply, and water master planning.
  • Inspire Teams: Lead and mentor passionate professionals, cultivating a high-performing team ready to tackle complex challenges.
  • Innovate Boldly: Leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver real-time flood predictions, adaptive wet weather controls, harmful algal bloom forecasting, and more.
  • Drive Results: Lead business development efforts with Federal, state, and local agencies in the Southeast, including strategic partnerships with USACE Districts (Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, and Norfolk) and USACE Research and Development Center (ERDC).
  • Elevate Impact: Represent Woolpert as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, and client-centric engagements, while developing visionary solutions tailored to client needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • A BA/BS in Civil, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering/Science (MA/MS preferred) and 10–12+ years of related experience.
  • Proven success in business development and client relationship management, particularly with Southeast local and state agencies.
  • A PE license (preferred), advanced technical expertise, and a proactive approach to leveraging new technologies.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams and driving consensus across stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, negotiation expertise, and the ability to drive projects to exceed client expectations.
  • Travel: Must be able to travel (25-50%) as required.
