Job Overview

The Eos Product Compliance team is looking for a Compliance Engineer to join our Global Certifications Team for large‑scale Energy Storage Systems. The qualified candidate must have global standards practices such as UL and IEC testing knowledge, work with NRTL’s in conjunction with the Eos Product Design Team, and be willing to travel up to 3 continuous weeks during certification testing.

Responsibilities
  • Regulatory product architecture and design.
  • Support research of new market entry requirements.
  • Review of products, specifications, and test plans.
  • Develop test criteria, methodologies, and pass/fail criteria.
  • Work with NRTL’s to achieve product compliance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the NRTL Data Acceptance Program.
  • Record keeping for Test Laboratory Accreditations, Corrective Actions, product certification test plans, reports, certifications, and factory inspections.
  • Develop end‑to‑end product validation test plans, final reports, schedules, product tests, and present and communicate final results.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time in North America, including overnight stays.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of UL, CSA, and CE processes including the CB Scheme, and APAC regulations.
  • Knowledge of RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and LCA environmental compliance.
  • Compliance certification experience with UL 1973, UL 9540, UL 9540A, UL 1741, UL 62368‑1, IEC 62619, CSA 22.2 No.107.1, NFPA70, and NFPA855.
  • Knowledge of functional safety (risk‑based approach) and electrical/battery safety concepts.
  • Experience taking products through the certification process and navigating/ interpreting ambiguous standards.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI testing.
  • Proven track record in product certifications and high‑voltage/power experience.
  • Proficiency with a variety of laboratory equipment and data acquisition tools.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience required.
Working Conditions

Office environment: The role requires stationary work 50% of the time with occasional movement to access files or office machinery. Close visual acuity is required for data analysis, transcription, computer use, reading, and visual inspection. Lifting or moving objects up to 25 pounds may be necessary.

Factory or field duties may expose the employee to hazards such as moving mechanical parts, vibration, moving vehicles, electrical current, temperature changes, chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dust, mists, gases, and noise. Personal protective equipment (eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, lab coats) is required, and up to 50 pounds may need to be lifted.
