Job summary

Grnoklahomacity seeks a Process Engineer II to assist the Engineer Supervisor in monitoring unit operations. You will receive on-the-job training and perform assignments to gain experience under supervision.

Your outputs will be reviewed for accuracy and conformance with procedures. Responsibilities include small project design to boost productivity, supporting Project Engineering, and contributing to process improvements and optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of relevant industrial work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of economic principles, project management, and customer service.
  • Familiarity with Process Modeling Software is important.
  • Exercise interpersonal skills in developing peer relations, and participating as a team member, or leading others.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office software packages including Excel.
  • Capable of analyzing, reasoning and solving increasingly complex problems.
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment and to address mechanical issues.
  • Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for the plant operations.
  • Daily monitoring and troubleshooting of all areas, including process optimization and capital project design.
  • Work with operators and engineers to maintain and troubleshoot problems and propose applications for the process units.
  • Assist in planning unit shutdowns and startups; adminster performance test runs and provide data to vendors or maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering for expansion and gather lab/operation data as needed.
  • Coordinate with Process Controls using TDC/APC to improve monitoring.
  • Research and monitor upcoming technology changes to improve future nitrogen plant strategies.
  • Provide after-hours and turnaround support as needed.
  • Keep supervisor advised of progress through oral and written reports.

Job Description

The Process Engineer II will aid the Engineer Supervisor in monitoring unit operations. Depending on level of experience, you will receive “on-the-job” training in various phases of engineering through specific assignments under close supervision. Tasks are designed to provide experience and familiarization with the staff, engineering methods, practices and programs. Your work outputs will be reviewed for accuracy, adequacy and conformance with prescribed procedures.

Assignments will include small project design to increase productivity and efficiency of the nitrogen plant; assistance to Project Engineering, outside consultants and firms monitoring for efficiency and expansion purposes, and; contribute to planning and strategies for process improvements & optimization.

  • Provide technical support for the plant operations.
  • Responsibilities of daily monitoring and troubleshooting of all areas, including process optimization, design and development of capital projects.
  • Work in a team environment with operators and engineers to maintain and troubleshoot problems as well as propose applications for the process units.
  • Assist in the planning of unit shutdowns and startups as needed. Administer plant performance test runs, provide any operational data or drawings required to vendors or maintenance.
  • Work directly with other supervisors and operators on small project scopes to receive appropriate design and size of equipment needed.
  • Provide support for process catalysts and chemicals bidding. Contact vendors for information and to provide vendors with appropriate information.
  • Provide information to Project Engineering for expansion purposes. Collect lab data or operation data to provide to Project Engineering group or outside vendors.
  • Work with Process Controls using TDC/APC control system to help improve monitoring.
  • Research and monitor upcoming technology changes to improve future strategies within the nitrogen plant.
  • Provide after hours and turnaround support as needed in support of maintenance and operations.
  • Consistently keep supervisor advised of progress through oral and written reports.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering.
  • At least 4 years of relevant industrial work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of economic principles, project management, and customer service.
  • Familiarity with Process Modeling Software is important.
