Northrop Grumman is one of the industry leaders in Stealth Technology. As such, we are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) platforms. We are currently looking for an Engineer/Principal Engineer - Survivability experienced in Low Observable to work on a variety of challenging projects. One area where we are in need of talent is Radar Cross Section (RCS) Analysis. This position will be located on-site in Melbourne, FL.

The qualified applicant will support a diverse portfolio of research and technology development activities. As part of your assignment, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to determine how survivability technologies can best be integrated into air-based systems within the NGAS portfolio.

Essential Duties
  • Develops and integrates advanced technology to reduce the detectability of aircraft in the electromagnetic spectrum
  • Develops and implements predictive analysis codes; builds and tests physical models; designs, develops, and builds test and verification equipment; and develops, tests, and integrates specialty materials
  • Works closely with engineers of other disciplines to optimize the integration of this technology on existing and future aircraft
Basic Qualifications
  • Educational/ Experience Requirements:
    • Engineer (LV2): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience
    • Principal Engineer (LV3): Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline and 1 years of related engineering experience.
  • Applied electromagnetics and/or aircraft survivability; or comprehensive understanding of electromagnetic energy transmission through space and within materials
  • A current active U.S. Government in-scope Secret Security Clearance or higher is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in signature integration, RCS design, analysis, and testing
  • Experience working with a Supplier Management Team, coordination of SSOWs and technical assessments / evaluations
  • Experience in one or more CAD software solutions such as CATIA, Unigraphics, or NX
  • Ability to use CAE and/or FEA tools (i.e. FMS, Patran, Cubit, etc.)
  • Proven experience with 3D Method of Moments (MoM) such as SENTRi and 3D Physical Optics (PO) codes such as Xpatch
  • Programming experience in C++, MATLAB, Python, or other highly technical languages
  • Knowledge and ability with RCS data processing tools, such as Knowbell, Saber, or Pioneer
  • An active U.S. Government issued Top Secret Security Clearance and/or previous SAP/SAR clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,200.00 - $130,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $108,200.00 - $162,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
