Courtyard by Marriott – Shelton, CT is seeking a skilled and dependable Engineer to join our PM Shift team. This hands-on role keeps the hotel running smoothly and ensures guests enjoy a comfortable, well-maintained stay.

You will perform preventive maintenance, address HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues, and assist with renovations. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and the ability to work independently on evening shifts are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel engineering or facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and building systems.
• Ability to work independently during PM shift.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs during PM shift.
• Respond to guest room and common area maintenance requests (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Inspect and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and building infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting, fixtures, appliances, and hotel systems.
• Ensure safety codes, brand standards compliance.
• Document work orders and communicate issues to the next shift.
• Support engineering team with special projects and renovations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel property during PM shift hours
• Respond promptly to guest room and common area maintenance requests, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues
• Inspect and maintain mechanical systems, equipment, and building infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and repair lighting, fixtures, appliances, and other hotel systems
• Ensure compliance with safety codes, hotel standards, and Marriott brand guidelines
• Document completed work orders and communicate outstanding issues to the next shift
• Support the engineering team with special projects and renovations as needed

Requirements:

• Prior experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, or a related trade
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks during PM shift hours
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and guest service orientation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
• Relevant trade certifications or vocational training a plus
