Job summary

Yanfeng, a leading automotive supplier in North America, seeks a PLC Engineer to design new programs and monitor existing systems, driving efficiency improvements across manufacturing lines.

The role involves programming all machines in a cell, interfacing with control systems, and collaborating with engineers to deliver advanced solutions. Training users and maintaining standards are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PLC Engineer or similar role.
• Strong understanding of PLC hardware and software, including ladder logic.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems and automation standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work utilizing plant & division electrical controls standards.
• Programs machines in a manufacturing cell to interface with other control systems.
• Collaborate with integration and application engineers on solutions.
• Develop and execute training programs for equipment users.
• Assist with internal queries on existing equipment and programming standards
• Outline programming standards and requirements with engineering staff.
• Provide engineering level product support as needed.
• Perform complex design, maintenance, testing, implementation, and support of software.
• Review customer standards to determine software engineering requirements.
• Run extensive tests pre-installation and install programs into industrial machines.
• Monitor system efficiency and reliability and troubleshoot issues.
• Continuously develop new ways to improve a system.

PLC Engineer is responsible for designing new programs, monitoring existing systems to identify and address problems, and developing ways to increase system efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Work utilizing plant & division electrical controls standards.
• Works as system integrator, programs all machines in a manufacturing cell or line to interface with other control systems, I.T
• Work with integration and application engineers to provide advanced programming solutions.
• Develop and execute training programs for equipment users and other technical users.
• Assist with internal queries on existing equipment and programming standards
• Work with other engineering staff to outline programming standards and requirements.
• Provide engineering level product support as needed.
• Performs complex design, maintenance, enhancement, testing, implementation, and support of software.
• Performs reviews of complex customers' standards specification and other documentation to determine software engineering requirements
• Seeing a PLC program through development from start to finish is a complex task that comes with many responsibilities. Some of these core duties include
• Running extensive tests to ensure a program’s success pre-installation
• Installing programs into industrial machines
• Monitoring a system to assess its efficiency and reliability
• Identifying issues and troubleshooting errors to find solutions
• Continuously developing new ways to improve a system

Required Qualifications
