Project Overview

Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish‑out a leading‑edge chip‑making facility — a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Job Summary

In this role, you will participate in the design and preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, graphic presentations and Plant Design and Piping (PD&P) drawings. You will originate basic deliverables and documents and verify compliance of pipe configurations and manufacturers’ drawings. Your efforts will contribute to ensuring PD&P design meets industry best practices and compliance standards.

This position is designated as part‑time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.

Major Responsibilities

• Plans plant and piping layouts and prepares detailed plant andpiping designs and drawings for structures (e.load sketchesand/or orientation and elevation drawings) and portions of majorplants
• Prepares plant design and piping designs and constructiondrawings using 2-D / 3-D computer aided design (CAD),presentation graphics and plant design models and codes
• Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME codecompliance
• Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams,client requirements, current technology, and operational andmaintenance requirements
• Participates in reviews and recommends approval of designdrawings and data for compliance with requirements
• Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents andperforms associated technical bid evaluations with awardrecommendations
• Participates in studies that require knowledge of principles andtechniques commonly employed in plant design and piping work
• Examines and analyzes pipe configurations for ANSI/ASME codecompliance
• Optimizes facility layout based on piping and instrument diagrams,client requirements, current technology, and operational andmaintenance requirements
• Acquires knowledge of and utilizes BSAPs, SCPs, and othersoftware, including questioning the output generated by computerprograms when the results do not seem reasonable

Education And Experience Requirements

• Requires a minimum of 6+ years of related experience
• Associate degree or related technical training preferred

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Must be authorized to live and work in the US without sponsorship.
• Developing professional in Piping Material Specification software (Smart Plant Reference Data SRD) on a medium or major sized project in an engineering discipline.
• Understands the application of Engineering Department Procedures, relevant Bechtel design guides. Broad knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability as applied to construction methods and materials.
• Working knowledge of applicable industry / regulatory codes and standards, i.e., ASME, API, AWWA, ASTM and MSS and design and/or layout criteria.
• Working knowledge of precedents in the discipline and of principles and practices of related disciplines.
• Skilled in oral and written communication.
• Willingness to travel on business trips in support of projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working on a large industrial manufacturing facility (semiconductor, fabs or data centers).
• Understands developing, managing, and maintaining BIM piping FabParts with defined LOD specifications (LOD 100-500) for the engineering discipline of Plant Design and Piping
