Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to join our Iuka, MS team. You will apply static strength hand analyses, DaDT, and finite element methods to support repairs, MRB and ASIP activities, and document results for review.

We require a STEM degree with relevant experience; for Principal, 5+ years or a MS with 3 years. Applicants must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. Preferred: MS in Engineering and FEMAP/NX Nastran experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in STEM with required experience as specified, or PhD with no experience.
• Experience supporting MRB/ASIP activities is preferred.
• Ability to perform structural analyses and document results for review.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Structural Engineer or Principal Structural Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located full time in Iuka, MS.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Candidate should be knowledgeable in classical static strength hand analysis, Durability and Damage Tolerance (DaDT) analysis, and finite element modeling and analysis for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from metal and composite materials.
• Should be able to develop and document detailed structural analyses in support of aircraft repairs including but not limited to free body diagrams, internal or external loading, shear and moment diagrams, and calculation of internal stresses.
• Analyses will be in support of Material Review Board (MRB), and Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP).
• Aircraft structural design criteria, and nonstandard repair and equivalent strength analysis background is a plus.
• Candidate must be able to collaborate in a team environment, prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result, prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously, comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System/ MES, and a Northrop Grumman MRB EN/ST signature is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

• Basic qualifications for a Structural Analysis Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree in STEM with no years of experience.
• Basic qualifications for a Principal Structural Analysis Engineer include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of relevant experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience.
• Experience with MRB related activities.
• Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final U.S. adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering (ME/AE) with minimum of 1 year of experience in structural analysis.
• Experience working on an ASIP managed platform.
• Experience with crack growth software-AFGROW.
• Familiarity with FEMAP/NX Nastran.
• Experience with the development of dispositions for Airframe discrepancies.
• Active US Government Secret Clearance or above.

Salary Range

Primary Level: $75,100.00 – $112,700.00

Secondary Level: $93,300.00 – $139,900.00
