Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Chandler, AZ to participate in the design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. You will collaborate with other engineering disciplines to address mechanical matters across the project lifecycle.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 2–5 years of relevant experience (or 6–9 years in lieu). This is a full-time, on-site position supporting office and project activities.

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods and criteria using independent judgment
• Participates in the design, development, modification and evaluation of mechanical components and processes
• Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines
• Provides technical assistance to mechanical personnel and interfaces with project functions, customers, and regulatory personnel
• Assists project and construction management in identifying and complying with mechanical requirements and addressing issues in project execution
• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals

Job Summary:

In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for mechanical matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.

Major Responsibilities:

• Evaluates, selects, and applies standardmechanicalengineering methods, techniques, procedures, andcriteria, using independent judgment in makingadaptations and modifications
• Participates in the design, development,modification and evaluation of mechanical components andprocesses used utilizingrelevant Engineering Department Procedures(EDPs), design standards and guides, and BechtelStandard Application Programs (BSAPs)
• Coordinates work and collaborates with otherengineering disciplines
• Provides technical assistance to other mechanicalpersonnel and will interact with project functions,the customer, and regulatory agency personnel inthe resolution of complex regulatory issues andindustry codes and standards
• Provides assistance toproject and constructionmanagement in identifying and complying withproject mechanical requirements and in addressingissues as they arise during project execution
• Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs,reports, or proposals

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
