Job summary

Southwire Company in North Carolina is seeking a Manufacturing/Facilities Engineer to design manufacturing facilities and related structures to optimize production efficiency and resource utilization.

You will analyze facility specifications, recommend improvements, and implement solutions to enhance manufacturing performance while complying with safety standards and industry guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial engineering.
  • 2–4 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Preferred 5–7 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Acquires knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and industry best practices to support production efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Advises on less complex process modifications and manufacturing improvements under the guidance of senior engineers or supervisors.
  • Analyzes basic production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Applies engineering principles to assist in designing and improving manufacturing workflows, tooling, and process optimization.
  • Carries out testing and validation activities for new processes or modifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to resolve manufacturing‑related issues.
  • Coordinates with suppliers and vendors to support sourcing, procurement, and evaluation of manufacturing materials and components.
  • Escalates production challenges or engineering concerns to senior team members or management for resolution.
  • Compiles technical reports, process documentation, and manufacturing data to support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Recommends production improvements by evaluating technical challenges and implementing solutions to enhance manufacturing performance.

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Specialized Degree: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Indsutrial

Years of Experience: 2-4 years
