Job summary

Bassett Engineering is seeking an Engineer II to join our civil and environmental engineering office. You will work on diverse bridge, roadway, and site development projects in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.

The role requires 2–4 years of engineering design experience and a BS/BA in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with opportunities for Engineer-in-Training. Hybrid work arrangements are available to support project needs and client schedules.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering required.
• 2-4 years of engineering design and consulting experience.
• Engineer-in-Training Certification (Desired).
• Experience in AutoCAD, Revit, and other applicable software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, create, and maintain small-scale to large-scale projects in a safe, timely, and sustainable manner.
• Apply basic civil engineering principles to carry out technical and feasibility studies, complete computations, prepare technical reports, run models, and produce drawings and technical specifications.
• Conduct on-site investigations and analyze data (maps, reports, tests, drawings and other).
• Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, etc. and deliver technical files and other documentation as required.
• Provide advice and resolve creatively any emerging problems/deficiencies.
• Monitor progress and compile reports in project status.
• Develop construction cost estimates and plans.
• Utilize civil engineering software(s).

This position includes working on projects that require solid judgment and application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Candidates should be able to apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of bridge engineering assignments and related fields. The ability to make decisions on engineering problems and methods to resolve important questions is essential.

This position is open to hybrid work arrangements.

Job Functions

Skills & Abilities

• Strong technical skills in Engineering analysis and design, combined with a proven background of performance on civil engineering projects.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD and/or Revit. (Desired)
• Ability to work in a team environment or to work independently on specific project tasks.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Good organization and time management skills.
