Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an experienced Lead Test Engineer to translate customer needs into robust test solutions and to direct end-to-end test planning for complex naval systems.

The role requires LTE/SSO/TRC/TROA certifications and at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and effective testing across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Lead Test Engineer (LTE) or Ship Safety Officer (SSO) or Watch Supervisor or Watch Officer Certification and Trade REC Coordinator (TRC) and Trade REC Oversight Agent (TROA) Certification.
• 4 years of relevant professional/exempt experience.

Responsibilities

• Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints.
• Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.
• Coordinates integrated testing activities.
• Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.
• Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
