Job summary

Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh company, is offering a Manufacturing Engineering Internship in Oshkosh, WI. You will support the department in achieving manufacturing goals and contribute to continuous improvement, reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing and gaining hands-on engineering exposure.

Key duties include auditing and updating work instructions, routings, and bills of materials; improving material handling; performing time studies; and assisting with plant layout, fixtures, and ERP

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Welding Engineering Technology, Industrial, Mechanical or related Engineering field for entire duration of internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or greater.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JD Edwards.
• Experience in welding, machining, or fabrication.
• Exposure to 2D & 3D CAD software.
• Exposure to Lean and 5S concepts.

Responsibilities

• Audit and update work instructions, routings, and bills of materials.
• Improve material handling methods.
• Perform time studies.
• Develop methods in fabrication and machining processes.
• Provide technical support to the production personnel.
• Provide input for manufacturing fixtures and tooling.
• Assist with plant layout and workstation design.
• Learn and use ERP manufacturing software.
• Create documentation for new product launches.
