Job summary

RESPEC seeks an Engineer-In-Training (EIT) for our Land Development sector in San Antonio, TX or Castroville, TX. The role covers broad land development and public works with focus on site civil design, permitting, and project delivery.

The EIT should have a civil/environmental engineering degree, an EIT or ability to obtain within a year, and at least 4 years of related experience in private-sector land development. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• 4 years of relevant land development experience (private-sector commercial, residential, mixed-use).
• Experience preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals.
• Experience working within small to mid-sized design teams.
• Providing land development engineering services in Texas.
• Knowledge of stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools.

Responsibilities

RESPEC seeks a Engineer-In-Training in our Land Development sector, located in San Antonio, TX or Castroville, TX. The Engineer (EIT) position is intended for a broad land development and public works professional, with experience across site civil design, permitting, and project delivery. Strong stormwater and hydrologic/hydraulic expertise is preferred to support cross-discipline projects, but the role is not limited to stormwater-only practice.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT) certification or have the ability to obtain within a year of employment
• 4 years of relevant land development engineering experience in the following areas: Private-sector commercial, residential, and mixed-use land development
• Preparing engineering reports, civil construction plans, and permitting submittals
• Working within small to mid-sized design teams
• Providing land development engineering services in Texas
• Knowledgeable of stormwater analysis, site drainage, and civil design standards
• Practical application of various software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormCAD, Hydraflow Express, Bentley storm suites and other common hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Central Texas market experience, particularly the San Antonio and Austin regions
• Familiarity with local and state permitting agencies and development regulations
• Experience on private site development and public works projects, including street, drainage, and utility design, as stand-alone assignments or as part of multidisciplinary project teams

Compensation:
