Job summary

Stanley Consultants in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an Engineer-In-Training to gain hands-on experience on highway projects, including studies, design, drainage, utilities, and construction documents.

You will work alongside seasoned Professional Engineers on transportation projects, learning geometry, earthwork, 3D roadway modeling, quantities, and specifications while growing with a collaborative, employee-owned firm that values growth and community impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Engineer Intern (EIT) registration required, or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • 0-2 years of civil engineering experience, internship/co-op preferred.
  • Proven communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to evolving client, project, and industry needs.
  • Experience with or capable to learn Bentley OpenRoads Designer and Autodesk Civil3D.
  • Experienced in and fully capable of using the Microsoft software suite including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work onsite in Baton Rouge and collaborate with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers on transportation projects, including plan development, geometry, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities, and specs.

If this describes you, we are looking for a talented and ambitious Engineer-In-Training. If selected you will gain meaningful engineering experience on highway projects including roadway studies and design, drainage and utility systems, preliminary and final design, preparation of construction documents, cost estimates, project scheduling, and large, complex highway corridors.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Collaborate with and learn from experienced Professional Engineers and be mentored by industry leaders in transportation.
  • Support experienced engineers on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects, including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination.
  • Enjoy a diverse client base enabling you to follow your passion in engineering.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
