Mesquite Entertainment in Mesquite, NV is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to perform intermediate repair and upkeep across hotel and casino facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. You will respond to maintenance requests and support safety protocols.

Candidates should have at least five years of general maintenance experience, strong communication, and the ability to read instructions and follow blueprints. Shift work may include weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for intermediate maintenance, repair and inspection of all machinery, equipment, and all aspects of the physical property as directed.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Develop and execute innovative solutions to engineering problems under the department management’s direction.
  • Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings when necessary.
  • Moves materials and equipment to specified locations throughout the property.
  • Log, maintain logs and report status of various aspects of the physical property.
  • Assist in training Engineer I – II team members in their daily job duties.
  • Provide labor and assistance as directed with maintenance and repairs in all areas of the property.
  • Strictly adhere to all departmental, company, and governmental rules, regulations and policies with specific attention to safety and environmental concerns.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of safety problems and report unsafe conditions and exposure of shift supervisor.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

Job description

STARTING RATE: $23.00

MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years old

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid Driver’s License and D.M.V. Driving History Printout (no more than 30 days old; only if driving company vehicles, which include, but are not limited to, work carts)


Job Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of intermediate repair and maintenance tasks on the Mesquite Gaming properties, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep to ensure the smooth operation of both the hotel and casino facilities, while maintaining a high standard of guest experience by promptly responding to maintenance requests and addressing any issues that arise; often requiring basic skills in multiple trades and a commitment to safety protocols. Responsible for assisting the Engineer IV and above positions with their tasks.

Physical Demands

The work requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.



Work Environment

Work in undesirable conditions including extreme heat (exceeding 120 degrees) cold, wind and rain. The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with irritant chemicals. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, glasses, hard hats, gloves, and boots. Use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire regulations and traffic signals. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to secondhand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
