Edward Jones is seeking an Engineer III on the Bank and Lending Product team to design, develop, and support critical banking applications used by home office, 15,000+ branches, and clients. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience

As an Engineer III on the Bank and Lending Product team, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting critical applications that power banking and lending services across Edward Jones. These custom-built applications support a wide range of products and services, including Credit Cards, Checking Accounts, Lending Products, and other banking solutions, and are used daily by home office associates, more than 15,000 branch teams, and our clients.

In this role, you will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions that enhance the advisor and client experience. You will lead technical analysis and development efforts, contribute to architectural and design decisions, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. As a senior technical contributor, you will also serve as a mentor to fellow engineers, sharing knowledge, promoting engineering best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

• Strong experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting complex enterprise applications.
• Ability to lead technical design and analysis efforts while balancing multiple priorities and initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with business partners to translate requirements into scalable technology solutions.
• Commitment to software quality through code reviews, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence.

• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of delivery.

What Experience You Will Need

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field, or equivalent experience in information systems
• Open System development skills such as Java, JEE, Spring, Spring Boot, Spring JPA, REST, JSON, Junit, Thymeleaf, Javascript, Kubernetes, and Azure are required.
• Knowledge and experience with any of the following technologies a plus:
• Docker
• React
• Cloud
• AI tools such as Github Co-Pilot
• Dynatrace
• A minimum of 5 years of Java development experience.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in both a team environment and as an individual contributor
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to explain complex technical issues in business terms.
• Knowledge of financial industry is a plus.
• Ability to design, develop, test, document, and implement quality software within targeted timeframes.
• Experience or training in the Agile Project Management methodology is a plus.
