Arizona Public Service - APS is seeking a motivated Engineer III / Senior with extensive mechanical balance-of-plant design experience. You will ensure APS Generating plants' designs meet safety, quality and performance standards, applying detailed engineering expertise and strong time management.

The role requires a four-year ABET-accredited engineering degree and 5+ years of engineering-related experience; PE licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Four-year ABET-accredited BS in an engineering discipline.
  • Five or more years of engineering-related experience.
  • Approved degrees list includes Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical balance-of-plant components for APS Generating plants.
  • Ensure designs meet safety, quality and performance expectations.
  • Apply rigorous time-management and engineering expertise to deliver robust designs.

Summary

APS Generation Non-Nuclear is growing and looking for a motivated, Professional Engineer III / Senior with extensive mechanical balance of plant design experience. This role will heavily leverage your technical expertise to ensure designs produced for APS Generating plants meet expectations for safety, quality, and performance. If you have a pragmatic, detail-oriented perspective with good time management skills and enjoy utilizing your engineering expertise, this role is for you!

  • A four year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution
  • plus five (5) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
  • A four year Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science discipline (see approved list) from an ABET accredited institution
  • plus eight (8) years working experience in Engineering-related positions.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications
  • Problem analysis/resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, methods and safety standards in the area of applicable engineering discipline.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Approved degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. (A four-year bachelor of Engineering Technology degree is not considered an automatic equivalent for a B.S. degree in Engineering. A review of the degree program curriculum must be completed by Engineering department management.)
