Job summary

Cadrex is seeking a Quality Engineer III to implement and maintain manufacturing quality processes, ensuring product quality from incoming materials through final assembly at our Illinois facility. You will drive process control, audits, CAPA and APQP programs to support reliable, safe production of complex sheet metal and machined parts.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of manufacturing quality experience, strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, and proven ability to lead cross‑functional

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering; CQE preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing quality systems and audits (ISO 9001; ISO 13485 preferred).
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Auditing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of APQP, GD&T, DOE, FMEAs.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document and implement methods for process control and testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and drive robust solutions.
  • Manage large projects with proper communication and resources.
  • Conduct internal quality system audits.
  • Lead CAPA meetings and ensure timely corrective actions.
  • Lead APQP processes for product and process validation.
  • Develop and maintain Quality System metric reporting.
  • Collaborate with engineering using performance data to prevent recurrence; use DOE, DFM, FMEAs, GD&T, and 6-sigma.
  • Assist disposition through failure analysis and MRB involvement.
  • Lead New Employee Orientation and training with HR.

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Quality Engineer III to Implement and maintain engineering and quality process including ensuring quality of manufactured goods from delivery of raw materials to final product by continually assessing process and recommending improvements. Works closely with other departments to ensure continuity in production, efficiency, quality, and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, document and implement methods for process control (including SPC), process improvement, testing and inspection
  • Conduct root cause analysis as needed, utilizing applicable tools to ensure robust solutions or improvements are determined and implemented
  • Manage large projects to ensure timelines are met and appropriate resources have proper communication and direction
  • Conduct internal quality system audits
  • Facilitate and lead CAPA meetings, follow up on corrective actions to ensure CAPA’s are being resolved in a timely manner?
  • Lead appropriate advanced product quality planning (APQP) processes within the organization to ensure product and process validation and verification?
  • Develop and maintain tools for Quality System metric reporting. Ensure metrics are being reported accurately
  • Work with engineering team using past performance data to prevent future occurrences. Utilize tools such as DOE, DFM, FMEAs, GD&T, process capability, 6-sigma designs, etc.?
  • Assist disposition process by involving in failure analysis and suggest corrective actions as Material Review Board member
  • Lead and develop New Employee Orientation Blue Print Reading Training and develop and implement programs needed for additional quality new employee training in coordination with the Human Resources Department
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preference of 5-7 years recent, relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling
  • Experience in Medical Systems and Audits (ISO 13485) preferred
  • A strong knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems and audit requirements
  • Auditing experience preferred
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and/or Certified Quality Engineer preferred
