Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Engineering/Assistant Director of Engineering, the Engineer III Mechanic's main responsibility is the maintenance and operations of the building's central systems, including HVAC, AHUs, Pumps, Motors, Hot water heaters, and Chillers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Daily rounds inspecting all plant equipment; maintaining up-to-date records on efficiency of equipment. Malfunctions or repairs needs to be noted and reported to the management team.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and guest rooms as scheduled.
  • Accurate record log keeping on meters, kitchen walk-in-boxes, ice machines, water fountains, and fan coil unit filter changes.
  • Respond promptly (within 15 minutes) to all guest calls, other departments, and team members requiring maintenance repairs from the Engineering department.
  • Ensure proper storage of all hazardous chemicals adhering to OSHA Standards.
  • Ensure the proper care and use of all Engineering equipment, including safety procedures, MSDS, and lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Ensure proper training of Fire and Life Safety Systems and emergency Shut-Off Valves in the hotel.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of trade school or formal apprenticeship programs in Engineering or related fields.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working with mechanical equipment in commercial buildings.
  • Familiarity with safety practices related to mechanical equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of Plumbing, Electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks.
Physical Aspects of Position
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, reach, push/pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Occasional use of ladders, stairs, and ramps.
