Since 2011, our mission hasn’t changed — we’re here to stop breaches, and we’ve redefined modern security with the world’s most advanced AI-native platform. We work on large scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events per day and this traffic is growing daily. Our customers span all industries, and they count on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, their communities safe and their lives moving forward. We're proud to work for a mission-driven company leveraging AI to transform the way we work. CrowdStrikers drive their careers through flexibility and autonomy while also being expected to contribute to a culture of responsible AI adoption, experimentation, and innovation. Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About The Role:

On the Engineering Systems team at CrowdStrike, we operate and maintain many of the systems and services that support the build, test, signing, and deployment of our software to the cloud and to our customers, as well as providing consultation, troubleshooting, and engineering support for the creation and maintenance of the pipelines that provide those functions. As CrowdStrike grows, we’re looking for an automation engineer who can help us move from the tools that got us where we are now to the tools that can take us into the future.

  • Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
  • Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks. Including automation solutions and tooling that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of build systems.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operation of existing systems
  • Drive improvements end-to-end, from the initial design stage (including eliciting specifications from key stakeholders) all the way to delivering a finished product internal customers can benefit from
  • Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight
  • Provide documentation for the users of the tools created
  • Perform code reviews
  • Perform typical on-call build engineer functions such as plan/pipeline configuration changes, troubleshooting assistance, or system/service maintenance/restoration
  • Troubleshooting and remediate issues across build, packaging, and deployment failures

  • Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing
  • Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries)
  • Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt
  • Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare)
  • Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
