About the Role:

On the Engineering Systems team at CrowdStrike, we operate and maintain many of the systems and services that support the build, test, signing, and deployment of our software to the cloud and to our customers, as well as providing consultation, troubleshooting, and engineering support for the creation and maintenance of the pipelines that provide those functions. As CrowdStrike grows, we’re looking for an automation engineer who can help us move from the tools that got us where we are now to the tools that can take us into the future.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage code signing for binaries, packages, and or software artifacts across multiple platforms (e.g. Windows, Linux, Mac). Including Microsoft Azure Artifact Signing, Mac OS/IOS Code Signing, Android Package Signing, and Linux Package Signing.
  • Manage certificate lifecycles, including issuance, renewal, revocation, and storage.
  • Design, implement, and maintain encryption, certificate, and code signing frameworks. Including automation solutions and tooling that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of build systems.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the operation of existing systems
  • Drive improvements end-to-end, from the initial design stage (including eliciting specifications from key stakeholders) all the way to delivering a finished product internal customers can benefit from
  • Produce clear and maintainable code with minimal oversight
  • Provide documentation for the users of the tools created
  • Perform code reviews
  • Perform typical on-call build engineer functions such as plan/pipeline configuration changes, troubleshooting assistance, or system/service maintenance/restoration
  • Troubleshooting and remediate issues across build, packaging, and deployment failures
  • Serve as a member of an on-call rotation
  • Work productively as a remote employee
What You’ll Need:
  • U.S. citizenship or Green Card/permanent resident status
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional software engineering or DevOps/build engineering experience
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation
  • Deep knowledge of encryption/PKI concepts (public/private key pairs, certificate authorities, hashing/signing algorithms) as they relate to code signing
  • Experience writing Groovy for Jenkins pipeline development (Jenkinsfiles, shared libraries)
  • Proven capabilities operating, administering, and troubleshooting CI/CD platforms (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and or Salt
  • Experience automating virtualization environments (e.g. VMWare)
  • Familiarity with public cloud APIs (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Familiarity with build/release engineering and software development lifecycles
  • Ability to work collaboratively with development teams to support and improve build/release processes
  • Collaborate effectively with global, cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.
  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions.

CrowdStrike was founded in 2011 to fix a fundamental problem: The sophisticated attacks that were forcing the world’s leading businesses into the headlines could not be solved with existing malware-based defenses. Founder George Kurtz realized that a brand new approach was needed — one that combines the most advanced endpoint protection with expert intelligence to pinpoint the adversaries perpetrating the attacks, not just the malware.

There’s much more to the story of how Falcon has redefined endpoint protection but there’s only one thing to remember about CrowdStrike: We stop breaches.
