Job summary

CrowdStrike, a global cybersecurity leader, seeks an Engineer II to join the Virtualization team to engineer, operate, and optimize virtualization environments across large-scale systems.

You will manage Open Source virtualization and VMWare, perform Linux administration, monitor a production environment, and automate tasks using Python/Go and automation tools. Remote collaboration across time zones is common.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a large-scale production environment.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a computer-related field.
• Ability to work with cross-functional groups across divisions/worldwide in a distributed team.
• Experience with Python, Go, or similar languages; Chef or automation tools is a plus.
• Experience leveraging AI technologies to improve decision-making and efficiency.

About The Role:

CrowdStrike is in search of an Engineer II to join our growing Virtualization team. The candidate will play an important role in engineering and maintaining solutions for our virtualization environments.

What You'll Do:

• Open Source Virtualization and VMWare administration supporting thousands of virtual machines
• Linux engineering and administration
• Monitoring, maintenance, and operation of a production environment
• Troubleshoot server hardware issues
• Automate common tasks, deploy with an IaaS model, utilize chef or similar
• On-call rotation with other team members
• Familiarity with public cloud and cloud administration concepts
• Ability to write simple to moderately complex scripts and programs for automation, tools, frameworks, dashboards, alarms. (common uses: Python, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, Go)

What You'll Need:

• US Citizenship or Green Card Holder
• 3+ years of experience working in a large scale production environment
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in Computer related field
• Occasional business related travel for group meetings
• Must work effectively and professionally with cross-functional groups across divisions, worldwide, as part of a team
• Must be able to work with a distributed team in multiple time zones
• Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions
• Demonstrate self-learning capabilities working in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
• Chef, Python, Go, etc. experience a plus
• Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

The base salary range for this position for all U.S. candidates is $100,000 - $145,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses, equity grants and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, 401k and paid time off.
