Job summary

Georgia Transmission Corporation seeks an engineer to assist experienced test engineers and lead distribution substation activities in commissioning and maintaining protective relay and control equipment at the Tucker facilities.

The role requires an BS in Engineering (Electrical preferred) or equivalent, with 18 months substation/test experience, and compliance with FE/CIP requirements. Candidates should be able to demonstrate familiarity with PSMP and cyber assets.

Assists experienced test engineers and takes on leadership of distribution substation activities in the commissioning and maintenance of protective relay and control equipment in the corporation's substation facilities. The position requires engineer to show applied understanding of on the job training, self directed studies of instruction books, diagrams and departments documentation, training classes, etc. Engineer required to show understanding of department's compliance program, Protective System and Maintenance Program (PSMP), and Cyber Security Program (CIP). Applies GTC Competencies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical preferred), other Engineering degree acceptable with emphasis on electrical engineering studies. Other degrees see Equivalent Experience.

Experience: Eighteen months of substation or test engineer experience.

Equivalent Experience:

• Bachelor of Science Degree - Technical (3.5 years of experience)
• Bachelor of Science Degree - Other (4.5 years of experience)
• Associates Degree - Technical (5.5 years of experience)
• Non-degree with experience as Test Technician or Substation Maintenance (9.5 years of experience)

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations: Completion of FE preferred. Must be able to pass all requirements for GTC to work on and around cyber assets. Must maintain proper driver licenses to operate assigned vehicle.

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Experience using a personal computer. Ability to lift fifty pounds.

Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
