  • Engineering Experience: None required for Level I; 1 year for Level II; 2 years for Level III of progressively responsible professional engineering experience.
  • Driver's License: Some positions may require a valid driver's license.
  • Special Requirements: Some positions may require lifting and carrying loads.
  • Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: fingerprint-based check; cost borne by applicant.
  • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: fingerprint-based check; cost borne by applicant; reimbursement after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer I performs routine professional engineering work applying basic principles and techniques under specific instructions.
  • Engineer II performs specific and limited professional engineering assignments involving standard methods on parts of a broad project.
  • Engineer III performs moderately difficult professional engineering work in planning, design, construction, maintenance, operation and/or evaluation of engineering projects or facilities, or assists higher-level engineers on more complex projects.
