Job summary

Gold Key PHR is seeking an Engineer II to focus on preventative maintenance across guest rooms and public areas. This role involves basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical tasks and coordination with the Engineering team to meet brand standards.

Responsibilities include performing room and public area repairs, following the PM checklist, and ensuring safe, clean work areas while contributing to overall asset condition and service quality.

Qualifications

  • Two years prior experience in building maintenance or related industry.
  • High School diploma required.
  • Professional tradesmen certification in at least one discipline (electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, carpentry, etc.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general handyman skills.
  • M ake all necessary room and public area repairs to meet asset condition standards.
  • Understand and coordinate completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment.
  • Utilize the PM Checklist to assist with repairs identified.
  • Perform tasks in conjunction with PM Team Captain and PM Engineer (door hardware, fixtures, painting, HVAC, plumbing).
  • Ensure safety and maintain clean, organized work areas.

Overview

An Engineer II is primarily responsible for the completion of Preventative Maintenance work in all rooms/areas. Engineer II is responsible forrepairs and maintenance to include but not limited to: wallpaper & paint, grout and tile, HVAC basic maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical. Engineer II works with Engineer Supervisor and/or Chief Engineerto plan and complete Preventative Maintenance of all Guest rooms according to Annual Task Schedule and in compliance with PHR andBrand standards.

  • Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:

  • Work smart. Understand the needs of the shift, use resources properly, complete all assignment methodically and promptly without losing attention to details.

  • Use your tools. Use the approved tools and checklists to complete assigned tasks.

  • Measure Up. Associate produces work that meets the standards of the department in terms of volume and quality. Associate meets goals and measures as defined by Department Leadership.

  • Respect the space. Keep your work area clean and organized. Report any deficiencies promptly to your Supervisor.

  • Be safe. Report unsafe work conditions or practices and safety or security violations in accordance with company policy.

  • Support the Team: Cooperate with other associates and supervisors striving to create a positive work environment. Support team efforts through carrying out responsibilities in a constructive and professional manner.

  • Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:

  • Provide general \"handyman\" skills

  • Makes all necessary room and public area repairs to ensure asset condition meets standard.

  • Understands and coordinates completion of PM maintenance on all rooms, areas and equipment

  • Utilizes the comprehensive Unit PM Checklist to assist with enacting repairs that have been identified

  • Returns the PM Cart to the PM closet in Engineering and assists with replenishing stock from in-house inventories.

  • Performs all work as assigned, in conjunction with the PM Team Captain and PM Engineer to include the following tasks:

  • door hardware, gaskets and thresholds

  • wall paper repair

  • touch up painting

  • ceiling vents

  • ceiling condition

  • lighting fixtures

  • check small appliances

  • check large appliances

  • check electronics (TV's remotes, alarm clocks, VCP's, etc.)

  • carpet wear and loose threads

  • furniture tight, drawers aligned, properly positioned

  • electrical outlets work, plate covers in place, lights activate from wall switch

  • HVAC unit functional

  • Closet rod, towel bars, tub grab bars all secure

  • Plumbing fixtures functional and secure

  • Drapery hardware complete and functional

  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:

  • Laundry equipment

  • Kitchen equipment

  • Air handlers

  • Pumps and Motors
