Environmental Conditions
Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, cleanroom environment (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair, etc.), cold room/freezers at -22°F/-6°C, laboratory setting.

Work Schedule
Standard (Monday-Friday).

Location
US - Allentown, PA - Remote. Residency in or around Allentown, PA is required.

Role Overview
Field Service Engineers (FSEs) are considered "remote" colleagues since they commute daily to customer sites to provide service. They are provided with a company vehicle for daily travel to multiple customer locations within their service area. Up to 30% overnight travel may be required for servicing customers and training.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, install, and maintain laboratory equipment including temperature control devices, incubators, centrifuges, cold storage units, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and corrective services to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Manage expenses and inventory trunk stock efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Electronics preferred; High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience also considered.
  • EPA Certification required.
  • Trade certification in HVAC/R or Electronic Technician preferred.

Experience

  • 3+ years in field service, depot repair, or related roles servicing medical or laboratory equipment preferred.
  • 1+ year customer-facing experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Strong electronic/electrical and mechanical skills, refrigeration experience preferred.
  • Experience with basic test equipment such as DMM, tachometer, temperature devices preferred.

  • Action-oriented with a sense of urgency and high energy.
  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient with computers, smartphones, and related software.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks independently.
  • Capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting using schematics, diagrams, and service manuals.
