Job summary

Groundworks in SeaTac, WA is seeking an Engineer to support the Engineering Team across permitting, site evaluations, and collaboration with production and sales. This role emphasizes design quality, field inspections, and coordination with officials to meet local building code requirements.

The position requires a BS in Engineering (MS preferred) and PE licensure; SE desirable. Expect travel up to 15% and a hybrid work model with 3+ days in the SeaTac office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in structural or geotechnical design for commercial, residential and mixed-use projects.
• Excellent communication, organization, multi-tasking, and strong team skills.
• Solid working knowledge of building codes, gravity, and lateral systems desirable.

Responsibilities

• Engineering review, oversight, and production of permit submission packages.
• Collaborate with other engineers and drafting team to organize, prepare, and review permit submission packages.
• Interact with Certified Field Inspectors for development of work scope.
• Perform site visits to local projects for Engineering Evaluation of structures and prepare limited reports and repair designs.
