Job summary

Cascade Energy, LLC is seeking an Engineer II to lead energy-efficiency projects for industrial clients in the Salt Lake City area. You will gather data, build optimization models, and write feasibility reports while managing projects and ensuring quality control.

The role emphasizes onsite client engagement, data-driven analysis, and clear communication of technical findings. A mechanical or chemical engineering background with 2–5 years of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • 2 - 5 yrs of engineering experience.
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system result.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an Engineer II to join Cascade Energy! The Engineer II will work directly with our clients to assess their operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Engineer II takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects while leading overall management of projects. The Engineer II also contributes to peer support and quality control review.

What You Will Be Doing

This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Salt Lake City UT area. The team is usually in-office 1 day per week. There will be site visits as needed and an occasional overnight site visit.

Qualifications

Applicants for this role are required to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • 2 - 5 yrs of engineering experience
  • Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system result

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

  • Experience with industrial facilities and energy efficiency measures is highly preferred
  • Experience from Industrial Assessment Centers is a plus
  • Familiarity or experience in Python and data analysis

As our work in other areas continues to grow, we would be thrilled if you have any of these additional skillsets:

  • Gas efficiency experience or experience working with industrial steam boilers
  • Energy efficiency project management such as corporate or plant energy management background

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position in Salt Lake City UT is $77,400 - $116,200. At Cascade, transparency and fairness are core to how we work.
