Job summary

Cascade Energy in Salt Lake City, UT is seeking an Engineer II to join our energy optimization team. You will work directly with clients to assess operations, identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, and develop models that quantify savings.

You’ll lead projects from start to finish, gather data, prepare feasibility reports, and communicate complex findings clearly. Occasional site visits and a hybrid in-office schedule support collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of engineering experience.
• Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, modeling of systems, electrical distribution, and data-logging of system results.

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an We are seeking an Engineer II to join Cascade Energy! The Engineer II will work directly with our clients to assess their operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. The Engineer II takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects while leading overall management of projects. The Engineer II also contributes to peer support and quality control review.

What You Will Be Doing

This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Salt Lake City UT area. The team is usually in-office 1 day per week. There will be site visits as needed and an occasional overnight site visit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
• 2 - 5 yrs of engineering experience
• Technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system result

A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:

• Experience with industrial facilities and energy efficiency measures is highly preferred
• Experience from Industrial Assessment Centers is a plus
• Familiarity or experience in Python and data analysis

Skills

As our work in other areas continues to grow, we would be thrilled if you have any of these additional skillsets:

• Decarbonization audit/planning work
• Gas efficiency experience or experience working with industrial steam boilers
• Energy efficiency project management such as corporate or plant energy management background

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this full-time, exempt position in Salt Lake City UT is $77,400 - $116,200. At Cascade, transparency and fairness are core to how we work.
