Job summary

The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee is seeking an Engineer to help maintain our iconic property and support guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction behind the scenes.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, respond to requests, and help improve efficiency while upholding OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, hotel, or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze problems, and implement effective repair solutions independently.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate maintenance requests, delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain the interior and exterior of the hotel property to company and brand standards.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and company policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
  • Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and daily shift reports accurately and on time.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction while assisting with utility and cost-control initiatives.

What you will be doing
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel facilities, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, analyze problems, and implement effective repair solutions independently.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building maintenance systems.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests, associates, and vendors.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with a flexible schedule to support a 24/7 operation.
