Engineer II supports the development and implementation of transit improvement projects. Working under the direction of senior engineering staff and project managers, this position assists with engineering analyses, design reviews, cost estimating, schedule development, construction administration, field coordination, and technical studies throughout the planning, design, and construction phases. Engineer II contributes to project delivery while developing technical expertise and increasing responsibility across multiple engineering disciplines. The position may independently serve as the Project Manager for assigned small-scale capital improvement projects while supporting larger, more complex projects under the direction of the Manager and senior engineering staff.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must have specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to safely operate RTD non-revenue vehicles in this position.
