Job summary

Loews Arlington Live! by Loews Arlington is seeking a skilled Engineer II to support hotel operations. You’ll perform skilled trade work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and general maintenance to ensure systems run safely and guests enjoy a seamless stay.

You’ll respond quickly to requests, perform routine inspections, document work, and uphold safety standards while collaborating with colleagues to support events and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on maintenance or skilled trades in hospitality or hotel setting.
  • Post-high school training or equivalent in a maintenance/engineering discipline preferred.
  • HVAC, plumbing or electrical certification/training preferred.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and repair manuals; strong problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled trade work across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and maintenance.
  • Respond to maintenance requests, guest concerns and emergencies promptly.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify issues and address them.
  • Operate tools and materials safely, following MSDS guidelines.
  • Maintain maintenance records and documentation for work performed.
  • Support dispatch and team workflow; communicate status to supervisors.
  • Follow hotel safety standards and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Assist with special event setups and general upkeep as needed.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment.
  • Attend mandatory trainings and participate in team safety initiatives.

A skilled and dependable Engineer II who will bring technical expertise and a commitment to excellence to our property operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform skilled trade work across multiple disciplines - including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance - ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently. What You’ll Do
  • Perform skilled trade work in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance disciplines.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, guest concerns, and emergency situations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and hazardous materials safely, following all MSDS guidelines.
  • Complete required documentation and maintenance records for all work performed.
  • Assist with dispatch responsibilities and support team workflow as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding job status and operational concerns.
  • Execute emergency response procedures in accordance with hotel standards.
  • Support special event setup and minor maintenance as required.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-kept work areas and equipment.
  • Adhere to hotel policies, safety standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Promote teamwork, safety, and hospitality in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs.
  • Required to attend all mandatory training sessions and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Qualifications Include
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance or skilled trades with journey-level responsibilities in a hospitality or hotel maintenance environment, preferred.
  • Post-high school training or equivalent education in a maintenance or engineering-related discipline, preferred.
  • Certification or additional formal training related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other trades, preferred.
  • Proven background in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or related trades.
  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining trade-related tools, equipment, and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and operational issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a guest-first mindset.
  • Familiarity with safety standards, MSDS compliance, and hazardous materials handling. Experience with emergency response procedures and routine inspections.
  • Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and repair manuals.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, work on ladders, and lift/pull/push 50 plus pounds regularly throughout the shift.
