Job description

At RK&K, we have an opportunity for an entry-to-mid level Structural/Bridge Engineer to join our team in Baltimore, MD. As a Structural Bridge Engineer with RK&K, you will prepare designs for bridges and other transportation-related structures for a variety of projects and clients. You will provide preliminary concepts to final construction plans.

Essential Functions

1. Design structural components of bridges, box culverts, retaining walls, and related structures.
2. Provide expertise in geometric layout and quantity development.
3. Calculate bridge load ratings.
4. Draft inspection reports.
5. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team across RK&K's portfolio.

Required Skills and Experience

1. Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineering.
2. Registration as an EIT (FE passed) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
3. Experience or willingness to learn software such as MDOT Engineering Software, STADD Pro, VBent, MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, and other structural programs.
4. Effective, professional oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous internship experience in structural or transportation engineering.
