Responsible for performing routine aspects of engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles. This position will apply knowledge of engineering principles to prescribed techniques and procedures to complete project assignments.
Location and Travel: This position will be office-based in one of our offices daily: Fargo, ND; Phx, AZ; Clinton, IN; Indianapolis, IN.

Responsibilities:Essential Job Functions:- Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation of lessons learned and industry best practices with a mindset of continuous improvement.
- Create and optimize preliminary Project layouts.
- Create and review engineering project deliverables.
- Employ problem-solving skills to resolve issues.
- Coordinate with Engineering Consultants and project stakeholders regarding the implementation of value engineering.
- Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Contribute to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope.
- Perform routine research and develop recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
- Collect, assimilate, and manage data for engineering work.
- Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles used in similar engineering analysis.
- Coordinate with project team members both internal and external when directed by supervisor or project leadership.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients (project team leadership) while attempting to gain basic understanding of external client's main interests and drivers.
- May provide support to business development or pursuit activities.
- Share current knowledge of latest technology and processes.
- Develop familiarity by reading, understanding, and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and MasTec Renewables policies and procedures.
- Develop an understanding and comply with the Company’s engineering standards, quality standards, and processes.
- Travel to project sites as required to foster relationships with project teams, help solve engineering-related issues, and pick up/implement lessons learned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Education and Work Experience Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Advanced studies, Masters or PhD programs a plus.
- 1-3 years of related work experience a plus.
- Experience in renewable energy preferred.
- Experience with foundation designs, structural designs preferred.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety by taking personal responsibility for working toward the Company’s Zero Injury principles.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including; Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.
- Experience in engineering software a plus.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical writing skills for technical narratives.
- Read, analyze and interpret drawings, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and document project activities.
- Basic concept of budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with project managers, clients, consulting engineers, design, and technical personnel as well as manufacturing partners.
- Must be open-minded, creative, and possess the ability to modify and expand theories to find creative solutions within the confines of the code.
- Must be confident and possess the ability to substantiate code interpretations and mathematically prove design concepts.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate design concepts and lead meetings between clients, project engineers, code officials, and third-party consultants.
