Job summary

Arthrex is seeking an Engineer I – Service Development in Santa Barbara, CA to help develop service documentation, training programs, and troubleshooting solutions that support our medical devices worldwide.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams through the product development process to create service procedures, expand field support, and ensure teams have the tools and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer service. Domestic and international travel required up to 15%.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of FDA or ISO guidelines for the development of medical devices preferred.
  • Design development process knowledge preferred.
  • Project management training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of support methodology including troubleshooting documentation, installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade processes for in field and in-house repairs.
  • Supports the establishment and implementation of service support documentation and infrastructure for capital equipment offerings.
  • This contributes to the development and implementation of processes to expand, support and develop call center and field service support of direct and 3rd party personnel.
  • Develops and maintains Technical Support procedures.
  • Develops service bulletins to inform global team of product support changes and maintenance updates.
  • Provides technical troubleshooting support for internal and external customers.
  • Ensures quality customer service experience and collaborates on resolving customer concerns.
  • Develop new techniques, processes, and service products.
  • Participate in major projects or several service projects of moderate to complex scope and requirements.
  • Provides technical training to Arthrex Global Service and Repair teams, as needed.
  • Supports the New Product Development process and the efforts towards “Design for Serviceability”.
  • Travels up to 15% domestically and potentially internationally.
