Summary:

This Project Engineer is responsible for processing and managing customer account projects in the Neenah Wisconsin Roll Shop. The Engineer is a problem solver and provides design, technical, and commercial support of projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

Project Manager:

  • Support customers by managing projects from initial quotation through completion.
  • Interact with customers on engineering design and questions/challenges.
  • Prepare project quotation and documentation.
  • Prepare scope of work for all mechanical services, modifications, and testing.

Facilitator:

  • Serve as liaison between engineering and mechanical services operations for issues, problems, or improvements.
  • Communicate with customers regarding repair projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors, outside salespeople, and internal groups including purchasing, quality control, sales, production, accounting, metal finishing, and assembly.

Engineering:

  • Generate and update process documentation, work instructions, flow charts, etc.
  • Review customer drawings and specifications to determine requirements and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with mechanical personnel to resolve manufacturing/design issues and implement cost reduction ideas.
  • Participate in design review and prepare preliminary proposals.

Health, Safety, and Environmental:

  • Promote safety, observe safety protocols, and support safety initiatives.
  • Assist in safety investigations.

Quality:

  • Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Track KPIs and follow up on corrective measures.

Operational Excellence:

  • Promote Lean culture and support operational initiatives.
  • Analyze KPIs and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with guidance.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office, ERP, and document control systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of paper manufacturing equipment is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to teach and coach team members.
  • Strong multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, reach, lift up to 50 pounds, and specific vision abilities.
  • Work environment includes indoor office/shop with noise, dust, fumes.
  • Travel up to 10% as needed.
