Job summary

Entegris is seeking an Engineer I, Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in California. The role focuses on developing and implementing world-class manufacturing methods, improving safety, quality, efficiency and agility through process improvements.

The candidate collaborates with operations and engineering, supports Lean Six Sigma initiatives, creates routings and work instructions, and drives cost reductions while ensuring on-time delivery and 100% quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or experience.
  • Experience creating routings, work instructions, ECR/ECO process.
  • Strong SAP or other ERP system experience (Oracle, PeopleSoft).
  • Experience with control systems documentation.
  • Excellent written & verbal skills.
  • Intermediate Excel skills; modeling, pivot tables, v-lookup, macros.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing processes and implement new process techniques to improve product flow, quality and first pass yields.
  • Create/Revise part instructions and routings and train production personnel.
  • Work with production to attain on-time shipping by eliminating quality/design issues and improving capacity.
  • Lead lean-sigma projects to influence customer satisfaction and reduce lead times and costs.
  • Promote and apply continuous improvement tools to remove non-value-added activities.
  • Develop ROI data for equipment changes and coordinate design/purchase with fixtures in mind.
  • Develop assembly techniques and cost-reduction plans.
  • Participate in 6S and Kaizen activities and ensure safety practices.

Our Company is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer position is responsible for working with the various manufacturing managers in developing and implementing world class manufacturing through more efficient and effective methods of producing products and processes, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency and agility through process improvements. Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for testing, and evaluating the product to established standards. Acts as a liaison between operations and engineering to ensure consistent performance and development of new products.

What You’ll Do:
  • Evaluate existing processes and implement new processes techniques to improve product flow, part quality and first pass yields to reduce product cost and lead time.
  • Creates/Revises part instructions and routings and trains production personnel on use, set-up, maintenance, and trouble-shooting process.
  • Works with production personnel to attain 100% on-time shipping performance by eliminating quality issues, design issues, improving capacity on bottle-neck processes and providing continuous support.
  • Initiates and leads lean-sigma projects on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, total product lead time reduction, cost effectiveness and product/system quality.
  • Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Develops ROI data for equipment replacement or addition and coordinates design, purchase or construction, and implementation with emphasis on design of fixtures.
  • Develops assembly techniques, procedures and manufacturing cost reduction plans.
  • Participates in 6S and Kaizen activities in all assigned manufacturing areas. Adheres to company established safety practices and promptly reports potential hazards.
  • Authors and/or reviews Standard Operating Process, work instructions, test specifications, and other documents for accuracy.
  • Participates as a team member on New Product Development Teams and analyzes the result of validation and qualification protocols for products, processes, and equipment and work through Release to Manufacturing process to release only capable process to production.
  • Develops and maintains audit functions (product, process, and operating system) ensuring quality systems and products are consistent with internal documentation, standards, and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate facility design and works with Manufacturing and Efficiency Managers to review and adjust layout to optimize maximum output.
  • Ensures feedback and corrective action communication and implementation is consistent with customer expectations.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
What We Seek:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or highly related field technical diploma a plus
  • Good visual ability to detest quality defects
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or experience
  • Experience creating routings, work instructions, ECR/ECO process
