Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation is seeking an IT Field Engineer I to provide technical support for operational and technical teams, ensuring stability of information systems, networks, and services. You will work with Senior Field Engineers to maintain LAN, server hardware, software, and data security across data centers and gaming environments.

Key duties include incident troubleshooting, device upgrades, network testing, and enforcing company policies.

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (2) years of professional IT support or related roles.
  • Experience with Windows operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Foundational networking, hardware installation, and connectivity knowledge.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite applications.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to operational teams via incident troubleshooting and documentation.
  • Perform first-level maintenance and upgrades on network devices, hardware, and software.
  • Respond to security alerts to restore services and communicate status.
  • Install and optimize network and server hardware, software, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze and resolve network and server issues efficiently.
  • Terminate and test network cabling systems.
  • Install and troubleshoot digital signage systems (indoor/outdoor).
  • Monitor user accounts for appropriate access per company policy.
  • Provide Smart Device activation and enrollment into MDM system.
  • Record, monitor, and document all work in tracking system.
  • Provide scheduled on-call support for after-hours issues.
  • Support inventory and asset stock levels.
  • Assist in software upgrades and asset lifecycle decisions.

Job Description

The IT Field Engineer I provides technical support to operational and technical teams, ensuring the stability and integrity of the Company's information systems, networked computers, operating systems, and service applications. This role encompasses monitoring and maintaining in-house computer and server hardware, software, voice, data, video, wired and wireless network services, including Local Area Network (LAN) services and low voltage connectivity. The IT Field Engineer I works collaboratively with Senior Field Engineers and IT Field Engineer II staff to deliver reliable technical support while building professional expertise.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical support to operational teams through incident troubleshooting, problem resolution, and comprehensive documentation
  • Perform first-level maintenance and upgrades on network devices, computer hardware, and software in collaboration with Senior Field Engineers, IT Operations Center engineers, and vendor support teams
  • Respond to computer, network, and data security vulnerability alerts to restore services and communicate status as directed
  • Install, monitor, maintain, and optimize network and server hardware, software, and communication infrastructure within data centers and communications closets
  • Analyze and resolve network and server hardware and software issues efficiently and accurately
  • Perform network troubleshooting and analysis with support from Senior Field Engineers and IT Operations Center engineers
  • Terminate and test network cabling systems using Company-provided tools and test equipment
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot digital signage systems, including indoor and outdoor displays, video walls, projectors, and monument signage
  • Monitor and maintain computer and user accounts to ensure appropriate access to software and network applications in accordance with Company policies
  • Provide Smart Device activation, programming, and enrollment into the Company's Mobile Device Management System, including basic user training
  • Record, monitor, track, and document all work performed using the Company's tracking system
  • Provide scheduled on-call support for emergency after-hours issues
  • Support inventory of Company assets and maintain accurate stock level documentation
  • Support rollouts of new computer and software upgrades under the direction of Senior Field Engineers
  • Assist in determining product compatibility and recommend replacement, upgrade, or retirement of Company assets
  • Adhere to all safety and security precautions and Company policies
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three (2) years of professional experience in IT Support, Network Engineering, or Systems Engineering roles
  • Demonstrated proficiency with current Microsoft Windows Operating Systems in enterprise environments
  • Have foundational knowledge of computer networking, hardware installation, and connectivity systems
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats with strong interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to obtain and maintain a gaming license as required
  • Ability to work scheduled on-call support for emergency after-hours issues
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Three (3) years of hands‑on experience with enterprise desktop and server‑related projects
  • Prior experience in a resort, hotel, or casino technology environment
  • Typing proficiency of at least 50 words per minute
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
  • Demonstrated core competencies in decision‑making, quality assurance, customer service excellence, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving
