Zachry Nuclear Engineering, Inc. (ZNE) is currently seeking an Engineer I, I&C for a direct hire position.


Position Synopsis:

The successful candidate will perform a variety of engineering and design activities involving power plant upgrades and/or new power plant projects under the supervision of senior engineering staff. Responsibilities include assisting with calculations, modifications, and designs. The candidate should possess technical knowledge of electrical discipline and work effectively on project teams to evaluate conditions, propose modifications, and develop design changes to improve plant performance, safety, and reliability.


Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, nuclear, chemical, computer, or process/controls engineering from an accredited program, including coursework in analog and digital control systems.


Minimum Experience Requirements:

Knowledge of digital and analog control systems.


Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Effective time management, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ability to pass security and drug screening, maintaining unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites, with periods of field and office work.
  • Ability to perform walk-downs of equipment in industrial environments, including climbing ladders, accessing security-controlled areas, and entering confined and hazardous spaces.

Preferred Experience:

Experience in the nuclear power industry and field experience on nuclear plant projects is desirable.


Preferred Certifications or Licenses:

Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) registration is preferred.
